July 20th 2015

Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of Cruise Planners - American Express Travel, the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, hosted a fundraiser aboard the Azamara Club Cruises ship on Sunday, March 16. The event was attended by more than 60 supporters who came out to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Fee was nominated for LLS’s Woman of the Year, which is a prestigious national campaign that focuses on raising money for the fight against blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

“Everyone is affected by cancer,” Fee said. “At Cruise Planners, our CP Cares program is dedicated to raising and donating funds to various charities and this year we are proud to support LLS for all they do to help cure cancers.”

Fee’s campaign will last 10 weeks and each dollar raised is a dollar closer to curing cancer. To make a big impact, Fee is leveraging her travel industry partnerships, including with Azamara Club Cruises.

"We are thrilled to assist Cruise Planners-American Express Travel in their continued efforts to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society," said Carmen Roig, Director of Sales North America, Azamara Club Cruises. "Cruise Planners-American Express Travel is an incredible network of travel partners and we are honored to support their passion for giving back.”

“We know every bit counts and will use creative ways to raise funds – one dollar at a time,” Fee continued. “Within the CP family, we have agents and extended family members who have been affected by cancer, and recognize that most likely everyone is touched by cancer in some way. Our strong support network in the CP family is passionate about giving back wants to make a positive impact.”

LLS will continue to fund leading-edge research for treatments and cures, increase government advocacy, and education programs for hundreds of thousands of patients battling blood cancers. Throughout 2014, CP Cares will continue to support LLS while also contributing to various local organizations throughout the year.
