Carpool 101
Want to start a carpool? It may not be top of mind for a home-based business owner, but you go to more places than work. This list of ideas may work for you or someone you know:
«      Get started: send a group e-mail to friends and co-workers detailing your route and schedule.
«      Get organized: figure out a schedule and stick to it; be punctual, calculate the mileage, and exchange contact information.
«      Get personal: get to know one another, set some ground rules (food, drink, smoking, talking, etc.), start on a trial basis and be patient.
The benefits for participating in a carpool are many. For one, you get to use the HOV or carpool lanes on the highway, but you also get to enjoy camaraderie, reduce the wear and tear on your car. Plus, your insurance could lower as some companies offer a discount for carpooling and some garages offer special rates for carpools as well.
