Did you know that food today travels between 1,500 and 2,500 miles from a farm to your local market? Wouldn’t it be great if we could book that travel? All kidding aside, try and purchase food as locally produced as possible. Here in Florida we grow strawberries, oranges and can offer freshly caught fish and seafood. It’s another small step towards thinking and living green.

An interesting book: Plenty: One Man, One Woman, and a Raucous Year of Eating Locally by Alisa Smith and J.B. Mackinnon. And, as the title suggests, it’s about a couple who tried and tested the above theory for a year.
