CP Cares: Change the World is an outreach program created by Cruise Planners/American Express that builds on our commitment to support organizations throughout the United States and around the world. Through this umbrella program, we have committed to raising and donating funds to various charities as well as providing hands-on service to the community. It's another example of their positive Cruisitude, embraced by Home Office, our franchise owners and great partners.

This year, we are raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is very near and dear to our hearts because it has affected so many in our CP Family including Meredith Charleson, daughter of Sarah Charleson. Meredith was diagnosed with “ALL” (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and battled it for 28 months....and WON!  She has been cancer-free since 2004 and just celebrated her 12th birthday on April 13th!

We want to continue this fight in her honor as well as all those who have been touched by this disease. In fact, leukemia still causes more deaths among children than any other cancer. From the youth of today, to the leaders of tomorrow. Our children are our future. Let's fight this together and save our children.

Every year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society launches their Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign. This is a fun way for each chapter to raise funds and awareness within a 10 week window. We are excited and proud to have our very own Vicky Garcia, EVP of Sales and Marketing, as a candidate for the Woman of the Year, Southern Florida Chapter. During this campaign, our team goal is to raise at least $25,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Remember our little friend Meredith? She was honored as LLS Girl of the Year in 2009.
