Hi, everyone! Happy St. Patty's Day and welcome to my first blog. You have all most likely heard the saying “To love what you do you have to do what you love.” Well I have had the privilege for almost forty years to work at two jobs that I love. First as an Air traffic Controller in the US Army, the same exciting job at JFK airport, and for the last almost thirty years as a Treasury Broker at a worldwide bank brokerage firm. Whether directing pilots to a safe course of flight or connecting bank buyers and sellers of cash at the best available rates, I have spent 90% of my working career in one form of “customer service” or another. The benefits have been many especially in the number of people I have had the privilege to work with both colleagues and clients (friends) during that long span of time.
Not that I’m ready to leave my day job yet, as I still enjoy it, but in preparation for the next phase of my life my lovely wife Sheila (36 years) and I have searched for something we can do together as our lives realign in the enjoyment years ahead. Going back to my first thought that you need to do something you love, we both decided that the one thing we wanted to do when we had more time, was to travel. We have had the opportunity to visit places both here in the states and around the world throughout the past twenty years, gathering experiences and memories that we will cherish forever. The one thing we have realized is that what is almost as good as traveling ourselves is to be able to plan family members, friends and new friends vacations and awaken their joys of travel.
With my customer service experience, Sheila’s Travel and Tourism BS degree and her work in the travel industry, and our mutual travel knowledge gained through years of travel experience, we became owners of a Cruise Planners/American Express travel franchise last year. While we specialize in the exciting and value filled cruise industry, we are trained and licensed to provide full service travel planning for any type of vacation.
Whether it’s a destination wedding, a romantic getaway to a Caribbean or Mediterranean resort, or an exotic trip to South America or the Far East we can give you suggestions and help you make your vacation dreams come true.
Everybody needs that “go to guy” that is knowledgeable, reliable and trustworthy, whether it’s your doctor, car mechanic, or investment advisor. Sheila and I want to be your “go to travel agents” and friends, so that you will be able to enjoy the travel experiences that are on your bucket list.
Come along with us on our new adventure and discover the world within and beyond our shores! We look forward to helping you uncovering the explorer within you.
Thanks for stopping by…
