Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of Cruise Planners - American Express Travel, the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, has been nominated to the South Florida chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society® as Woman of the Year for 2014. Under Fee’s leadership, Cruise Planners has given back to the community through its CP Cares program.

The nomination came from Vicky Garcia, COO and co-owner of Cruise Planners and LLS Woman of the Year, Fort Lauderdale winner in 2012. Garcia made the announcement at the conclusion of Cruise Planners’ annual convention in Hollywood, Fla. alongside 14-year-old, CJ George, a cancer survivor who was honored as LLS Boy of the Year with Garcia.

“I am honored Vicky and CJ have nominated me to carry on their tradition of supporting LLS’s mission to help cure blood cancer,” said Fee. “This cause is near and dear to my heart, and I am committed to sharing our positive Cruise Planners’ Cruisitude™ with others as we raise awareness in support of LLS.”

To raise money for the charity, Cruise Planners will hold raffles, sell the company’s notorious “green and bling” merchandise at events and host small fundraisers at Home Office.

 

“We know every bit counts and will use creative ways to raise funds – one dollar at a time,” Fee continued. “Within the CP family, we have agents and extended family members who have been affected by cancer, and recognize that most likely everyone is touched by cancer in some way. Our strong support network in the CP family is passionate about giving back wants to make a positive impact.”   

 

Through the CP Cares umbrella program, Cruise Planners is committed to raising and donating funds to various charities as well as providing hands-on service to the community. In 2014, CP Cares will continue to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® while also contributing to various local organizations throughout the year.
