Flamingos, komodo dragons, meerkats, monkeys, rhinos of all kinds, lions, tigers and bears - oh my! - are all on exhibit at this world-class zoo. At Zoo Miami you'll take a trip around the world without ever leaving Miami. The zoo is divided into parts of the world: Africa, Asia, Australia and Future Tropical Americas.
If you could spend all day at the zoo watching the monkeys jump around there's an attraction just for you: Monkey Jungle "where humans are in cages and monkeys run wild!" Located in South Dade Monkey Jungle is a 30 acre reserve where nearly 400 primates run and rove at their leisure. Monkey Jungle is part of a world-wide effort to save monkeys close to extinction and protect them within comfortable and familiar environments.
Miami Activities
Drive through Miami, discovering its rich history, then head out to the Everglades, the only subtropical preserve in North America. As you approach the park, a guide will tell you about the many birds and foliage found in the River of Grass. Then explore the Glades on a 40-minute airboat ride, and see an Indian village, alligator wrestling and even a wildlife show.
Take a colorful tour to the world-famous Art-Deco District of South Beach. Then head to Brickell Avenue, the financial heart of Miami. Your tour takes you to the bohemian village of Coconut Grove and its lush vegetation. Finally, a drive through Coral Gables will take you past the Biltmore Hotel, the Venetian Pool and Miracle Mile.

Great Harbour is the main anchorage on Jost Van Dyke and the center for nightlife on this beautiful island. The easternmost of the Caribbean islands, Barbados is also one of the most beautiful. Opt for one of the many tours available, such as the popular sojourn to tropical Andromeda Gardens. Fort-de-France offers a variety of historical monuments, museums, parks and gardens, as well as fine French and Creole dining opportunities and duty-free shopping. A favorite pastime is to stroll and people-watch in the park-like Place de la Savane. The square is shaded by trees and decked with flowers from all over the island. Stalls offer a variety of local handicrafts. Around the square are small hotels, restaurants and bars; on the west it is bordered by the business quarter with lively shopping streets.
Fort de France Activities
Place de la Savane - This is the main square in downtown Fort-de-France. It makes a good starting point to explore the town, enjoy a shady spot for a rest, or browse in the souvenir stalls.
Saint Louis Fort - Located at the south end of Place de la Savane, the fort dominates the harbor. It is still used as a military base.
Schoelcher Library - The stunning building stands at the northwest corner of La Savane. Named after the Alsatian-born French minister who fought for the abolition of slavery, the library was pre-fabricated in Paris in 1889 and then assembled in Martinique.
Statue of Josephine - Located in the northwest corner of La Savane is a marble statue of Josephine Beauharnais, Napoleon’s first wife, who was born in Martinique.
Musée Départemental de la Martinique - Located on the west side of Place de la Savane, this museum offers interesting exhibits depicting the history and customs of the island.
Saint Louis Cathedral - The cathedral has beautiful stained-glass windows; it is the resting place of several former governors.
La Pagérie - Once the estate where Josephine Beauharnais was born, it now houses a small museum.
Authentic Caribbean foods at Basseterre, and a peaceful setting virtually untouched by tourism are among St Kitts most enchanting features. For breathtaking views, visit Brimstone Hill Fort, an impressive construction atop Mt Liamuiga that is one of the wonders of the Caribbean.

Whether you're a history buff or just want to take in the scenery, be sure to visit the 350-year-old estate, Romney Manor, once owned by a British earl.
