American Cruise Lines is pleased to announce American Serenade, one of the newest ship in our revolutionary modern riverboat series. The overture to American Serenade’s cruise season will begin on the legendary Mississippi River in 2023.
Like her sister ship American Symphony, the 175-passenger American Serenade introduces an updated modern interior design, integrating an elegant and refined aesthetic with our tradition for the spacious comfort found aboard all of our ships. Drawing inspiration from the geography across America, the new interior design highlights natural textural elements and serene color palettes.
American Serenade also showcases panoramic views throughout, including an impressive four-story glass atrium in the center of the ship. Ranging from 250 to 650 square feet, all of the spacious staterooms offer full-size bathrooms, roomy closets, and private balconies where you can enjoy daily breakfast room service. The new ship also features an on board fitness center and many spacious lounges where you can relax after the day’s adventures.
The Mississippi River is the largest river of North America, draining with its major tributaries an area of approximately 1.2 million sq mi (3.1 million sq km), or about one-eighth of the entire continent. The Mississippi River lies entirely in the United States. Rising in Lake Itasca in Minnesota, it flows almost due south across the continental interior, collecting the waters of its major tributaries, the Missouri River (to the west) and the Ohio River (to the east), approximately halfway along its journey to the Gulf of Mexico through a vast delta southeast of New Orleans, a total distance of 2,350 mi.
The greater La Crosse region, or “Driftless Region,” is a geological oddity in the sense that our area escaped the glaciers of the Ice Age unscathed. While many surrounding regions appear more flat, our beautiful Mississippi River valley is bordered by breathtaking limestone bluffs and rolling hills that lead to scenic “coulees” or valleys.
Downtown La Crosse’s Riverside Park is known as “the place where three rivers meet.” In addition to the Mississippi River, the La Crosse and Black Rivers join together at the north end of the park. Native American legend says that where three bodies of water meet, no big winds shall blow. To date, there have not been any tornadoes in the vicinity of Riverside Park. Hiawatha, a 25′ tall statue, is the guardian of this convergence and can be seen standing guard at the north end of Riverside Park where the three rivers join together.
Dubuque, a city of about 80,000, is situated in eastern Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi River. Dubuque is known for its extensive collection of Mississippi River Boats. Daily trips can be made cruising the river in one of these boats and some offer gambling and overnight trips. Other Dubuque area attractions include Cathedral Square, Crystal Lake Cave, Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Dubuque Museum of Art and the Mississippi River Museum. If time permits,
visitors may view the site of the filming of the motion picture "Field of Dreams" which was shot in the Dubuque area.
Welcome to Davenport! We are a bustling, vibrant community with a rich history closely related to one of the world's mightiest rivers, the picturesque Mississippi.

Davenport offers professional theatre, the Quad City Symphony, historic riverboat cruises and riverboat gaming, the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, the Quad City Air Show, the world famous Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival and Bix 7 Race.
Hannibal, Missouri is located along the Mississippi River in northeast Missouri, approximately 100 miles north of St. Louis. The community is intersected by Highway 61 (Avenue of the Saints) and Highway 36 (Chicago to Kansas City Expressway). Hannibal provides convenient, four-lane highway access to St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Memphis, Des Moines, and Minneapolis.
Today, Hannibal is a community of approximately 17,000 people. Hannibal is a wonderful place to live, work, shop, or simply visit.
