MS Vesterålen provides passengers an authentic heritage experience. In its exciting programme you will learn more about the ship´s maritime operations, logistics and hotel operations. You will get an opportunity? to get closer to the Hurtigruten operation and to learn more about the operation along the Norwegian coast. The programme includes the following:
- Different topics every second day, related to Hurtigruten´s operations. Evening talks hosted by the ship´s tour leader, including interviews with different crew members? who share their insights about work and life on board.
- A short film and/or presentation during the evening talk programme about the engine room, bridge, galley, cargo deck, and more.
- Practical courses within relevant topics, including "Learn to read and use marine charts" and "Make the Norwegian traditional dinner Fårikål". Due to limited capacity, these courses are available for a fee and can be booked on board .
- Operational and historical `points of interest´/ fun facts presented on deck along the sailing route.
- An exhibition about Hurtigruten´s history, ship design and construction, route planning, navigational facts and operational development.
- A logbook of the entire journey available for purchase? at the end of the trip.
MS Vesterålen will be refurbished at the end of 2019. All the common areas will get an upgrade, including the lounge and 'Fyret' bar. The refurbishment will take care to ensure that MS Vesterålen continues to provide passengers with an authentic heritage experience.

Molde enjoys, as a beautiful backdrop, the mighty range of the snow-capped Romsdal Mountains. These peaks provide for an unusually temperate climate, in fact mild enough to have earned Molde the title of "City of Roses." This climate, warmed by the distant Gulf Stream, also accounts for Molde's popularity as a tourist destination for the last 100 years. Apart from this gorgeous setting, Molde offers attractive parks and gardens.

In town, favorite attractions include the 1960s Town Hall and the Molde Cathedral which was constructed in the 1950s. Some famous former citizens of Molde include the Norwegian dramatist, Henrik Ibsen. He was considered probably the country's most influential figure in modern theater. Bjornstjerne Bjornsone was also a citizen of Molde. Though most famous in Scandinavia, this Norwegian writer is revered around the world as the seminal figure of 19th-century Norwegian literature. Kristiansund is built on three separate islands, this picturesque fishing village is a charming collection of colorful houses, quaint shops and several lighthouses.

Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park is one of Norway's leading tourist attractions, with over 500,000 visitors yearly. In this unique family park, you will find more than 100 different types of animals. Here you'll find the Norwegian pirate Kaptein Sabeltann and the Kardemomme storybook town, a swimming/water park and a large recreational park. In contrast to most other parks, Dyreparken is open all year round.

Trondheim exudes history from every pore of her stave churches and cobbled streets. Take in the splendid Nidaros Domen, built in 1066 over the grave of St. Olaf. Its the most magnificent cathedral in Scandinavia. The Royal Familys vacation palace is here too. Its the largest wooden building in Norway.
Trondheim Attractions
Stretching 120 metres (400 ft) into the sky, the Tyholt Tower was built by the Telecommunications Authority for modern radio and telecommunications. This is a must for tourists as it offers a spectacular view of Trondheim and the surrounding area. It also features a rotating restaurant 74 metres (243 ft) above ground.

Sandnessjøen is a town and the administrative centre of the municipality of Alstahaug in Nordland county, Norway. Sandnessjøen was granted town status in 1788. Bodo is a city and a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Salten region. Norwegian Aviation Museum and Salten Museum are located in Bodø. Salten Museum has four exhibitions: The Lofoten Fisheries, a Sami exhibit, a Viking treasure, and an exhibition about Bodø's history from 1816 to 2000.
The Bodo Cathedral was built in 1956, representing post-war architecture, whereas the Bodin Church just outside the city centre dates from the 13th century, representing a typical medieval stone church.
Svolvaer is the unofficial capital of Lofoten and the administrative centre of Vågan Municipality (9200 inh) in Nordland County, Norway. This small town (population on 1 January 2005: 4,197) is a favourite starting point for tourists visiting the islands. Svolvaer was given township privileges in 1918, but this was discontinued following a merge with neighbouring municipalities in 1964. Township was declared again in 1996. Approximately 200,000 tourists visit Svolvaer each year. There is a small airport near the town, and Svolvaer is a port of call for Hurtigruten.

It is the largest urban area in Northern Norway and the second largest north of the Arctic Circle in Sápmi (following Murmansk). Most of Tromsø, including the city centre, is located on the island of Tromsøya, 350 kilometres (217 mi) north of the Arctic Circle. Substantial parts of the urban area are also situated on the mainland to the east, and on parts of Kvaløya—a large island to the west. Skjervoy is a municipality in the county of Troms, Norway.The church of Skjervoy dates from 1721, and is the oldest wooden church in the county of Troms.
Hammerfest – the world’s northernmost town – is one of the most important travel destinations in North Norway. Over 250,000 tourists visit the town annually. The borough has approx. 9200 inhabitants, and a surface area of about 844 km2. It covers parts of the islands of Sørøya, Kvaløya and Seiland, and since it was awarded city status in 1789, it has been the natural centre of the region. Trade and industry is characterised by fishing, fish processing, the Snøhvit field (LNG), service industries and tourism.

The Meridian Column - This beautiful memorial was raised in 1856 to commemorate the first project to measure the exact size and shape of the earth. The memorial is in the Fuglenes area of Hammerfest.
Music pavilion - An example of the great architecture of old Hammerfest, the pavilion was built by the local artists Eva and Knut Arnesen
The reconstruction museum invites you to an exiting and modern exhibition of the forced evacuation and 'scorched earth' policy in Finnmark and north Troms during World War II and the post-war reconstruction of these counties.
Norways northern-most settlement is the picturesque fishing village of Honningsvag. Cross the empty expanse of Arctic tundra to the North Cape. There you will stand atop a a 1,000-foot sheer granite cliff at the literal European end of the earth.
