About San Antonio
San Antonio is a Chilean city, commune and the capital of the San Antonio Province in the Valparaíso Region. It is the hub of the fishing area that spans the Chilean coast from Rocas de Santo Domingo to Cartagena. Its port is the largest in terms of freight handled and the busiest in the western coast of South America.
The city lies on hills and coastal dunes, immediately north of the mouth of the Maipo River and is crossed in two sections by estuaries, of Arévalo to the north and of El Sauce in the section of Llolleo.
Captain Edwards, of HMS Pandora, on his mission to find the "Bounty" mutineers, in 1791 sighted Ducie Island. Ducie is a reef-ringed atoll only 6 meters above sea level.
The Island is a nesting place for several varieties of Pacific birds, and lizards are the only other known inhabitants.
This protected atoll together with its six neighboring islands, originally including Taiaro, makes up a UNESCO classified nature reserve, which is the proof of the richness of the ecosystem of these atolls: the especially rare flora and fauna, including the hunting king-fisher, the Tuamotu palm, and in the lagoons, crustaceans such as squills or sea cicadas. Rotoava in the northeast near the Ngarue pass is a charming village, home to most of the atoll's 248 inhabitants and it's aerodrome. Fakarava's immense lagoon provide endless and exciting discoveries for snorkelers in dream-like purple water where 150 foot visibility is the norm, or you may choose to join the local villagers of Rotoava while they demonstrate their handicrafts and colorful cultural traditions.
The uninhibited waterfront town of Papeete lies on the island of Tahiti, the most magical name in the South Pacific. Spend a day on a palm-fringed beach, visit the Gauguin Museum or tour the lush interior to see the waterfalls. In town, sample boutiques and sidewalk cafes along Boulevard Pomare.
Papeete Attractions
Tahara Hill and Matavai Bay - The perfect viewpoint of the bay where Lt. William Bligh's HMS Bounty anchored in the novel, "Mutiny on the Bounty."Point Venus - This lighthouse now stands where James Cook and the scientists of his expedition observed the Transit of Venus in 1769.Gauguin Museum - This museum chronicles the French artist's life in Polynesia and includes two sketches and a sculpture.
The largest of the Leeward Islands, Raiatea is totally surrounded by a reef but has several navigable passes and the only navigable river in French Polynesia. Raiatea shares a protected lagoon with the island of Taha'a. Discover fascinating underwater scenery within Raiatea's deep lagoon, which is rich with fish and surrounded by mountains. The island offers lush green valleys, numerous waterfalls and pineapple and vanilla plantations.
A visit to the Cook Islands is not complete without seeing our beautiful island of Aitutaki. The breathtaking allure of it's crystal clear turquoise waters and sparkling white beaches is an essential ingredient in any Cook Island holiday. This is a place of unsurpassed natural beauty and tranquillity, providing a simple tonic to sooth away the pressures of the outside world.
This is the captial of Upolu, the most developed and populous of Western Samoa´s nine islands. Lush and volcanic, the nine islands of Samoa constitute a reef-fringed oasis in the vast Pacific Ocean. One of Apia's greatest attractions is a hotel "Aggie Gray's", immortalized by Michener and frequented by Robert Louis Stevenson, Marlon Brando and Gary Cooper. Other worthy elements include rain forests, waterfalls, craters, blowholes, beaches, and the ever-present fa'a Samoa (the Samoan Way).
Apia Attractions
Visit Aggie Grey´s Hotel and sightsee from Falefa Falls to Robert Louis Stevenson´s former home at Vailima.
Vava'u is a raised coral island, as is Tongatapu and consists of one large island and as many as 40 smaller islands. Tradition says that the mythical hero Maui who fished both islands from the sea, put a little more effort into Vava'u which is a big island rising 204 metres above sea level with a stunningly beautiful dramatic coastline.
On the west coast of Fiji´s largest island, Lautoka is a center for beach resorts and a jumping off place for visits to offshore islands with names like Paradise and Treasure. Spend a day at one of the area´s unspoiled beaches, play a round of golf or enjoy duty-free shopping.
Luganville is the second-largest town on Vanuatu, one of over 300 islands of volcanic origin located in Melanesia. Its population is extremely diverse, with over 100 different languages, a multitude of dialects and a South Pacific island heritage that spans over 3,000 years of Pacific region immigration. On Luganville's main street, (which is unusually wide, thanks to a WWII general's insistence that it should accommodate four trucks abreast) visitors will find reasonably priced dining, interesting general stores, commercial shops and tourist boutiques.
Alotau is a town built on the hillsides of the northern shore of Milne Bay. It became the provincial capital in 1968 when administrators were moved from overcrowded Samarai Island.
Alotau and the coastal strip either side played a pivotal role in the WWII Battle of Milne Bay and there are several memorials and relics here. The town’s sights might soak up some time, but the real attractions lie beyond Alotau, amid the beautifully set capes, coves and islands of Milne Bay.

Kuri Bay is a remote coastal bay in the far north of Western Australia in the Kimberley region, about 370 km (230 mi) north of Broome. It is a designated point on the Western Australian Forecast Areas, utilised by the Bureau of Meteorology as a boundary for the North Kimberley Coast area from the West Kimberley Coast.
The closest main town is Derby, 223 km (139 mi) southwest of the bay. The bay opens directly into the Indian Ocean, and Augustus Island is located just off-shore from the bay. The bay is part of the Prince Regent National Park and the Kunmunya Aboriginal Reserve.
Kuri Bay Attractions
It is the home to Australia's first cultured pearl farm and is named after the company's first principal, Tokuichi Kuribayashi (1896–1982). The Japanese-American-Australian company commenced operations in 1956 following the Western Australian Government repealing the Pearling Act that prohibited the production, sale and possession of cultured pearls.
By 1973 the Kuri Bay operation was producing 60% of the world's large white South Sea pearls.[3] Paspaley, the biggest supplier of South Sea pearls in the world, has one of their largest and most well-known pearl farms located at Kuri Bay.
Far out in the north-west of Western Australia lies Broome. Once isolated, it has now been discovered as a great getaway with beautiful sandy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere.
Broome Attractions
One of the more entrancing sights in Broome is the Staircase to the Moon. On a cloudless night you can see the full moon reflected in the rippling mus flats, which creates a beautiful golden stairway effect. This effect is most dramatic a few days after the full moon, when the sky has a chance to darken before the moon rises.
