About The Cruise
Launched December 2018, Nieuw Statendam carries forward the nautical heritage, signature service and classic style for which Holland America Line is known—while raising the bar for 21st-century elegance. Sister ship to Koningsdam, she’s the second of our Pinnacle-class ships. Guests onboard Nieuw Statendam will love her interiors, created by brilliant hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and legendary ship architect Bjørn Storbraaten. They feature all the hallmarks of Pinnacle-class design: grand light-filled spaces, visual drama and sumptuous interiors inspired by the fluid curves of musical instruments. A beautifully appointed mid-sized ship with elegant lines, she proudly reflects more than 140 years of Dutch seafaring tradition. At the heart of the ship, Nieuw Statendam's central atrium is breathtaking. Soaring three decks high, the atrium is capped by a ceiling that serves as a backdrop for subtly changing high-definition projections. By day you’ll see wispy cirrus clouds floating overhead. In the evening, the atrium takes on dramatic lighting hues or reflects the clear constellations of the night sky. With sophisticated décor and amenities, staterooms aboard Nieuw Statendam provide a welcoming haven at the end of an eventful day. Designed with input from our guests, they feature thoughtful modern touches such as bedside USB ports, frameless shower doors and customized wood cabinets. Like her sister ship, Nieuw Statendam also offers exclusive Family Ocean-view Staterooms that can accommodate up to five people, and specially designed single staterooms for solo travelers.

About Rotterdam
Modern Rotterdam is often referred to as a "wonder", because of its amazing Phoenix-like revival after bombs had virtually flattened Rotterdam on May 14, 1940. Highlights are the 180 metres tall Euromast which was built in the record time of 23 days, the impressive sculpture by Osip Zadkine entitled "The Destroyed City" and the town hall resplendent with its embellished facade in the style of the Flemis Neo-Renaissance.
Rotterdam Activities
The Havenmuseum shows the presence of the port of Rotterdam in the heart of Rotterdam.
The Maritiem Museum in Rotterdam offers a wealth of information about the shipping industry, both past and present.
The Openlucht Binnenvaart Museum offers berths to historical commercial (sailing) vessels in the Oude Haven area as well as parts of Delfshaven in Rotterdam.
Close to the Oude Haven on the Wijnhaven, you will also find the Mariniers museum. Here, visitors can learn anything and everything there is to know about the lives of 'our boys', the ships and the history of the Royal Dutch Navy.
The Wereldmuseum Rotterdam focuses on encounters and cross-cultural inspiration.
How can one live in a cube house? In Rotterdam you will find the answer. Curiously angled cube-shape apartments have each been turned to balance on one corner on the top of tall beams. One of the cube houses, the so-called fully furnished Show Cube, is open to the public.
The Blijdorp Zoo is a voyage of discovery, full of surprising encounters that takes you to different continents in one day.
The Euromast, a 607-feet tower visible from miles around, gives a superb view of the city of Rotterdam and the largest port in the world.

Invergordon Activities
Inverness Museum and Art Gallery - The exhibits may be worth viewing as they provide a good general overview of the development of the Highlands. Loch Ness Monster Exhibition - Located 14 miles southwest of Inveress, the exhibits tell the legend of the monster from 565 AD to the present. About Lerwick Shetland Island
Shetland Islands, archipelago, 552 sq mi (1,427 sq km), off N Scotland. They consist of c.100 islands c.70 mi (110 km) long, about a fourth of which are inhabited. The largest are Mainland (where Lerwick, the main town, is located), Yell, Unst, Fetlar, Whalsey, and Bressay. Oil, produced offshore in the North Sea since the 1970s, supplements income
from traditional sheep, cattle, and knitware industries. Tourism is also important. The hardy Shetland pony and the Shetland sheepdog originated there. Occupied by Norsemen by the 9th cent., the islands were annexed to Scotland in 1472. Fishing is plentiful here, and the rocky cliffs offset by vast colonies of gannets and gulls make for breathtaking scenery.

About London/Dover
Restless, enduring and wonderful, London is Europe's largest city. And surely, if you have the choice to visit only two or three cities of the world in your lifetime, by all means make one of them London. The Romans started it all. The city they developed was "the square mile," - and Londoners still hunt for Roman relics in the Thames. History is everywhere you look in London, yet today the city is as modern and metropolitan as any city on earth. By day, London is buzzing with the frenetic pace of commerce not even Dickens could have imagined. By night, the excitement and glitter of theatres, cinemas, pubs and restaurants beckons throngs of travellers from around the world. But there is another London, a peaceful London of cool museums, quiet tea rooms, immaculate gardens and hushed churches. There is Royal London - ancient pageantry in a modern kingdom - with its palaces, pomp and precise manoeuvres at the Changing of the Guard. And there's outrageous London, the urban gathering ground for Cockney pitchmen, "fringe" theatre and the city's youth, with their own distinctive style. London, this extraordinary city of contrasts, holds a stunning abundance of hidden-round-the-corner surprises. You owe it to yourself to explore them all. Here, then, is the London you'll come to know and remember.

About Alesund
The coastal town of Alesund is the commercial capital of the More og Romsdal district. But more important, it is noted for its characteristic Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) buildings, which some claim make Alesund one of the most beautiful towns in Norway. Today, narrow streets are crammed with buildings topped with turrets, spires and gables that bear decorations of dragonheads and curlicues. As one of the few remaining Art Nouveau towns in the world, in 1998 Alesund was awarded the coveted Houens National Memorial Prize for the preservation of its unique architecture.
Alesund Activities
Atlantic Sea Park - Located about two miles west of Ålesund, this unique Sea Park is built into a large stretch of coastal area with fishing stands, hiking trails, bathing sites and outstanding diving venues. It features large aquariums teeming with ocean life from up and down the Atlantic. Fish feeding is daily at 1:00 p.m.
Ålesund Museum - The exhibits at this museum concentrate on the history of sealing, fishing, shipping, the fire of 1904, the German occupation during World War II and the town's distinctive Jugendstil architecture.
Ålesund Church - The church was built in 1909 in Norman style. It boasts splendid frescoes and beautiful stained-glass windows. The gable windows behind the organ were an inauguration gift from the German Emperor Wilhelm II.
Municipal ParkLocally known as Byparken, it features a statue of Rollo, which was presented to the people of Ålesund from the city of Rouen in 1911. The park also has a monument dedicated to Kaiser Wilhelm II who made major contributions to the rebuilding of Ålesund after the Great Fire in 1904.

About Aberdeen
ABERDEEN -- Scotland's third-largest city (pop. 187,000) is characterized by buildings of beautiful white granite. Set beside the North Sea, Aberdeen is both a university town and the capital of the Scottish oil boom. It is also one of Scotland's largest seaside resorts (though its appeal is confined to those who like their water well-chilled). The city's attractions encompass the 15th-century St. Machar's Cathedral, the Mercat Cross of 1686 (a impressive structure), the 14th-century Brig o' Balgownie (Scotland's oldest bridge) and the Winter Garden (Europe's largest indoor garden). Old
Aberdeen, the students' quarter of the city, merits a visit; Stroll the campuses of the two ancient universities, King's College (founded 1495) and Marischal College (founded 1500) -- both are now combined as the University of Aberdeen. Aberdeen is excellent as a base for touring the nearby castles (Dunnotar, Slains and Crathes) and whiskey distilleries (Glenfiddich, Glenlivet and Speyside Cooperage). Other sites include Balmoral Castle (the Royal Family's summer residence) and Braemar Castle, which hosts the largest Highland games every

Ship: ms Nieuw Statendam
