Highlights are the 180 metres tall Euromast which was built in the record time of 23 days, the impressive sculpture by Osip Zadkine entitled "The Destroyed City" and the town hall resplendent with its embellished facade in the style of the Flemis Neo-Renaissance. Rotterdam Activities The Havenmuseum shows the presence of the port of Rotterdam in the heart of Rotterdam. The Maritiem Museum in Rotterdam offers a wealth of information about the shipping industry, both past and present. The Openlucht Binnenvaart Museum offers berths to historical commercial (sailing) vessels in the Oude Haven area as well as parts of Delfshaven in Rotterdam. Close to the Oude Haven on the Wijnhaven, you will also find the Mariniers museum. Here, visitors can learn anything and everything there is to know about the lives of 'our boys', the ships and the history of the Royal Dutch Navy. The Wereldmuseum Rotterdam focuses on encounters and cross-cultural inspiration. How can one live in a cube house? In Rotterdam you will find the answer. Take the thrilling bus ride along the banks of the Eie River before climbing into the stupendous Mabodal Canyon. At the very summit, you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable view of the thundering Voringfoss Waterfall. Eidfjord Activities Experience wild, beautiful and dramatic west Norwegian nature on a journey with the “Troll Train” on the old Rv 7 road in Måbødalen. The “train” can accommodate 50 passengers. The train departs on the hour every hour from Vøringfoss Cafeteria and every 30 minutes past the hour from the farm at Måbø. Måbø lies around 12 kilometres from the centre of Eidfjord next to the Rv 7 road. Vøringfoss Cafeteria lies at the top of Måbødalen by the Rv 7, around 20 kilometres from the centre of Eidfjord. Eidfjord kommune has built an excellent gallery, adjacent to Quality Hotel & Resort Vøringfoss, for the unique work of the painter Nils Bergslien. The Hardangervidda Nature Centre Eidfjord is one of the most modern nature and cultural-historical experience centres in Norway. Hardangervidda Nature Centre is an activity and experience centre for the whole family. For it was here that the country was first united by the Viking king Harald Harfagre. Modern day Stavanger is the major center of Norways important oil industry and although partly damaged during World War II, much of old Stavanger remains intact. A relaxing stroll along Stavangers narrow, cobblestone streets reveal brightly painted houses and colorful flowers. Stavanger Attractions Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen (Prekestolen) in Norwegian is one of the areas most profound turist attractions. This natural rock formation with a 25 meter squared plateau stands 604 meters above the sea. Thousands of tourists visit the Rock every year. The trip takes about two hours by foot, but the rock formation can also be enjoyed from the sea by boat. Stavanger Activities Three enormous bronze swords stand monument to the battle of Hafrsfjord in the year 872, when Harald Hårfagre (Fairheaded Harald) united Norway into one kingdom. The monument was designed by Fritz Røed and unveiled in 1983 Stavanger Cathedral Near Stavanger, the "Vistehola", stone age cave can be found. It is 8-9 meters deep and the opening is 5,5 meters wide.
