Glover Garden - With beautiful views of Nagasaki, the garden houses a collection of Western-style houses, including that of Thomas Glover, a 19th-century Scottish merchant who lived in Nagasaki and introduced modern shipbuilding techniques to Japan.
Oura Catholic Church - Next to the entrance of Glover Garden, this is the oldest example of a Catholic church in Japan, built in 1865 for the foreign population that lived in Nagasaki at the time.
Confucian Shrine - Containing the Museum of Chinese History, the Confucian Shrine is dedicated to Confucius, the Chinese philosopher.
Korea´s "museum without walls" is akin only to China in its depth and cultural wonder. From Pusan, you can journey to this ancient Silla capital, a dynasty which reigned in Korea for almost a thousand years. Today this small provincial town is virtually a museum without walls, dotted with many splendid ruins. Nearby, the forested mountains and valleys shelter hundreds of beautiful Buddhist shrines including the renowned Sokkuram Grotto, and Tongdosa and Pulguksa Temples.

Gyeong-ju - The old capital of the Silla Dynasty was designated one of the world's 10 most significant historic sites by UNESCO.Ja-Gal-Ch'i Fish Market - This popular fish market known as "Aunt's Market" was established by women peddlers during the Korean War.
Sakaiminato City, located at the tip of Yumigahama Peninsula, is the city whose area is about 28 square kilometers. Since early days, Sakaiminato has grown with its fine natural port, to which the opposite Shimane Peninsula has been a protection against rough waves of Japan Sea and the monsoons. The city is complete with infrastructures such as harbor, airport and railroad.
In feudal times, Kanazawa was the wealthiest domain in all of Japan. Today, it's a city of beautiful rivers and parks, old samurai and geisha districts, and famous silk makers.

is by far the most famous part of Kanazawa. Originally built as the outer garden of Kanazawa castle, it was opened to the public in 1875. It is considered one of the "three most beautiful gardens in Japan" and is filled with a variety of trees, ponds, waterfalls and flowers stretching over 25 acres (100,000 m). In winter, the park is notable for its yukitsuri - ropes attached in a conical array to trees to support the branches under the weight of the heavy wet snow, thereby protecting the trees from damage.Outside Kenrokuen is Ishikawa-mon, the back gate (karamate-mon) to Kanazawa Castle. The original castle was largely destroyed by fire in 1888 but part of it has been partially restored as of 2001, with more to come. There are currently plans to re-create the original castle grounds in full, encompassing what is now Central (Chuo) Park, as well as adjacent areas.The Seisonkaku Villa was built in the last years of the Edo Period by a Maeda lord for his mother. It is one of the most elegant remaining samurai villas in Japan. The villa stands in a corner of Kenrokuen, but separate admission fees (JPY500) apply.Kanazawa also boasts numerous Edo-period (1603-1867) former geisha houses in the Higashi Geisha District, across the Asano river (with its old stone bridge) out from central Kanazawa. Nearby is the Yougetsu Minshuku which sits at one end of one of the most photographed streets in Japan. It retains, almost completely, the look and feel of pre-modern Japan, its two-story wooden facades plain and austere. The effect is accentuated by the early morning mist. Late at night, the street is lit by recreated Taisho-period streetlamps.Kanazawa's Myoryuji Temple or ninja dera (ninja temple) is a fascinating amalgamation of traditional Zen architecture, hidden doors, passageways, and hidden escape routes. Although the temple is often referred to as ninja dera, it is in fact not connected with ninjas at all (this does not stop local tour operators and shops from selling ninja trinkets). Local legend has it that the temple, with its hidden doors and passageways, was intended as a secret refuge for the local rulers in the case of an external threat.
The city of Akita is located in the coastal plains of central Akita Prefecture, bordered by the Sea of Japan to the west. The Omono River runs through the center of the city.
The area of present-day Akita was part of ancient Dewa Province, and has been inhabited for thousands of years. The Jizōden ruins within the city limits are a major archaeological site with artifacts from the Japanese Paleolithic period through the Jomon and Yayoi periods. During the Nara period, the Yamato court established Akita Castle in 733 AD to bring the local Emishi tribes under its control. The area was ruled by a succession of local samurai clans in the Sengoku period, before coming under the control of the Satake clan of Kubota Domain during the Edo period. Under the Tokugawa shogunate, a castle town developed around Kubota Castle.
The port of call for Japan´s northern island of Hokkaido boasts a Western-style castle built in 1855, and a superb view from its Mt. Hakodate. The island´s mountain and forest parklands may also be toured.

In feudal times, Kanazawa was the wealthiest domain in all of Japan. Today, it's a city of beautiful rivers and parks, old samurai and geisha districts, and famous silk makers.
