About Iles Des Saintes
Les Saintes (also known as Iles des Saintes) are perfect for the kind of traveler who relishes unspoiled tropical beauty, serenity and French style.
Just 10 km (6 mi) south of Guadeloupe, these idyllic tropical jewels float like exotic dreams in the Caribbean sea. Of the eight little islands, only two are inhabited, and picturesque Terre-de-Haut is the one travelers visit first.
In addition to superb beaches, gorgeous bays, exceptional snorkeling and fascinating historical sites, this romantic island offers a charming village with excellent restaurants, interesting shops and unique art galleries. The other populated island, peaceful Terre-de-Bas, is only a few minutes by boat from Terre-de-Haut and is definitely worth a visit.
Pigeon Island National Landmark (don't let the name lead you astray) is a 44-acre island reserve just off the north coast of St. Lucia. Connected to the mainland by the construction of a man-made causeway in 1972, the island park is hailed as a monument to St. Lucia's history and its role in 18th-century maritime trade. An interpretation center located within the confines of the park traces the history of long ago battles between English and French troops struggling to control the strategically important outpost.
Soufriere is a picturesque town, located on the southwest coast of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. The oldest settlement on St. Lucia, it was an important trading center under the French. At its prime in the late 18th century, as many as 100 sugar and coffee plantations flourished in the vicinity. Even after almost two centuries of British rule, the French legacy here is still apparent in the names of people and places, their speech and some of the old town's architecture - enough to give the town character. Many natural attractions, like the sulphur springs, rainforest, waterfalls, botanical gardens, pristine coral reefs and the world famous Piton mountains are found in the area.
Soufriere Attractions
Towering volcanic peaks and peaceful bays guarded by its coastal cliffs contribute to St. Lucia´s treasure of dramatic and interesting sights.
On the north end of this island are the two famous pyramidal Pitons, half a mile high, and the now-silent Soufriere volcano you can walk into and explore.
Union Island is the Southernmost of the Grenadines. Due to its dramatic silhouette, Union is also called by some the Tahiti of the West Indies. Its location just a few miles from the Tobago Cays, Mayreau and Petit St. Vincent has made it the ideal starting point for day charters to these islands.
Union Island Attractions
Union offers great hiking, beautiful deserted beaches and a bustling town, Clifton Harbour, from where the day charter yachts depart. The island has a small airport and is easily accessible from Barbados, Carriacou, Grenada and Martinique.
Mayreau is the smallest (approx. 1.5 sq. miles) inhabited Grenadines with a population of approximately 300, all living in the village on the south-west side of the island. There is a trail from Saltwhistle Bay to the village that is currently being improved. The village boasts four bars and restaurants and colorful local rum shops with domino tournaments and pool tables.
Mayreau Activities
A sailboat and motor boat is available to charter to the nearby Tobago cays for some of the best diving and snorkeling in the Caribbean. Snorkeling equipment is available for rent. Hiking trails abound throughout the island with spectacular views of the neighboring Grenadines.

The San Blas are an archipelago of more than 350 islands located in the Caribbean off the coast of Panama. These tropical islands, covered with white sand and coconut groves, are pristine environments inhabited only by the Kuna, its indigenous Indians. The Kuna have resisted change and maintained their traditional culture ever since the Spanish made contact over 500 years ago. San Blas province has its own government, and each island has a chief.

The intricate stitchery produced by the women of the Cuna Indians is world famous and not to be missed. Their primitive culture is maintained in this archipelago that seems to resist the effects of time, offering you a glimpse of a unique island society.
Portobelo (formerly Puerto Bello, also Porto Belo) is a port town in Colon Province, Panama. Portobelo was founded in 1597. From the 16th to the 18th century it was an important silver-exporting port in New Granada on the Spanish Main and one of the ports on the route of the Spanish treasure fleets. Today, Portobelo is a sleepy town with a population of fewer than 5000. It has a deep natural harbor. In 1980 the fortification ruins, along with nearby Fort San Lorenzo, were declared a World Heritage Site.
Portobelo Attractions
Today, the town of Portobelo has a unique Afro-Caribbean-colonial flavor. It is located on the Caribbean coast of Panama with a total area of 86,000 acres; 20% of the area is designated as a marine park.
