Santa Cruz de Tenerife, commonly abbreviated as Santa Cruz ,is a city and capital (jointly with Las Palmas) of the Canary Islands, the capital of Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and of the island of Tenerife. Sé Cathedral - The cathedral was constructed by the Knights of the Order of Christ in 15th-century Manueline style. The stunning design features white stucco with contrasting black basalt and red tufa rock; the ceiling is inlaid with ivory.
Museum of Sacred Art - Located near the Town Hall, the museum contains art from the island, including a group of 15th- and 16th-century paintings of Portuguese and Flemish schools. The museum is closed from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Botanical Garden - The gardens are Madeira’s best example of lavishly landscaped grounds. Situated on the estate of a former private residence, the gardens are host to a profusion of plants and flowers from all parts of the world, which thrive in the island’s temperate climate.
Catch the flavor of Casablanca in the open spice markets and herb alist shops on the Quarter Balilida in New Medina. A part of the Italian Riviera near Genoa, Savona is a city rich in history and enterprise, largely centered around its port. Near the Rocca di San Giorgio, on the "Promontorio del Priamar", stands the fortress named Priamar, built after fall of Savona in Genoese hands (1528) by the Genoese in 1542, on the area of the old cathedral and old city and later used as a prison and military prison (italian patriot Giuseppe Mazzini was imprisoned here).
Near the Cathedral (built 1589 – 1604) is the Cappella Sistina, containing the tomb erected by the Della Rovere Pope Sixtus IV to honor his parents. The Cathedral has one of the most notworthy wooden choirs of XVI cent. European churches.
