About Belfast, Northern Ireland
A busy and bustling city, Belfast is thriving with Irish history. Visit the Ulster Museum with its items from the Spanish Armada wreck anda fine collection of traditional houses at the Ulster Folk Museum. Lose yourself in the awesome beauty of the Antrim Coast. Or hail a taxi and make a run for the Catholic Falls Road and the Protestant Shankill Road, site of "the Troubles."
Belfast, Northern Ireland Activities
The Botanic Gardens Park, located between The Queen's University and Ulster Museum, features the Palm House and Tropical Ravine. Established in 1828, the gardens have been opened to the public since 1895.
On the north coast is the geological phenomenon of the Giant's Causeway, where a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago formed columns of layered basalt. Ancient legend suggests this was the work of the giant Finn McCool, the Ulster warrior and commander of the king of Ireland's armies.
The delights of the Irish countryside in Derry and Donegal are the lure here. Visit the walled city of Derry and see St. Columb's Cathedral and the 19th century guildhall. Or enjoy a private visit to Barons Court, the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn. This estate was deeded to the Abercorns in 1612 and has been in the family since. The majestic mansion was built in 1767.
Dingle is located on the south western shores of Ireland. Charming and quaint, this town, known for its live music, has a population of 1,000 people and 52 pubs. They even have a resident dolphin that returns to the bay every spring.
The magnificent Cobh Harbor is just a short drive from Cork. An enchanting place, the main district of Cork sits on an island formed by the diverging channels of the River Lee. The city itself is filled with a multitude of picturesque quays and bridges. Cork is the ideal spot to outfit yourself with Irish tweeds, kiss the Blarney Stone or simply relax and enjoy the charming countryside.
Cork Attractions
When you're in Cork, you'll want to take the chance to visit Blarney, just five miles away. There you'll find the Blarney Castle, home of Ireland's "Crown Jewel" - the Blarney Stone. Take part in a tradition shared by people from all over the world: kissing the Blarney Stone. It's supposed to bestow the gift of eloquence on anyone who does.
Cork Activities
Visit City Market, also known as the English Market. Dating back to 1610, the Market provides a colorful insight into local tradition and culture.
Explore Muckross House and Gardens, an 1843 Elizabethan-style home set in a beautiful national park. Learn about the folklore of County Kerry in the 19th and 20th centuries, and see skilled craftspeople carrying on the traditional work of their predecessors.
Travel through the Derrynasaggart Mountains toward the Killarney National Park, where the famous lakes and tree-lined shores shimmer against a backdrop of mountain peaks.

Waterford is a large Irish seaport known the world over for its glass industry. Explore the town´s Viking heritage at the 10th-century Reginald´s Tower, now a museum. Visit the glass factory for an inside look at the craftsmanship that produces the fine crystal ware.
Waterford Activities
Take a walking tour of Historic Waterford, a worthwhile way to get an understanding of Waterford’s complex history.
Reginald’s Tower - The 70-foot tower was built in the 11th century. You can climb the stone spiral staircase for a great view of the city.
French Church - The ruins of this church are part of a Dominican monastery built in 1240 A.D. and given to Huguenot refugees in the 17th century.

Founded by the Romans, Rouen is situated amidst the chalk cliffs along the Seine, and is filled with half-timbered houses and exquisite gothic architecture. The old city on the right bank of the river is surrounded by a natural amphitheater of hills. Highlights include the Justice Palace and 15th century Aitre Saint-Maclou, a rich example of flamboyant gothic architecture. The city is known for its role in the heroic tragedy of Joan of Arc, patron saint of France. Tried and condemned for heresy, she was burned alive at the stake in the Place du Vieux Marche (Old Marketplace) in May 1431.
