Activities

Cinque Terre - The towns of the “Five Lands” can be reached via regular local boat service departing from the Portovenere harbor front. In addition, train service and walking paths connect the individual villages. Church of San Pietro - This 13th-century church stands above a grotto named after Lord Byron. Part of the structure dates back to the 6th century. Brightly painted with black and white stripes, this striking landmark can be spotted from far out at sea. The church’s terrace offers a spectacular panorama of the Gulf of La Spezia and the hills of Cinque Terre.

Shopping

The main street of Portovenere is lined with numerous shops offering souvenir items and the famous wines and olive oil from Cinque Terre. Some shops close for lunch from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
