Activities

Fort Charlotte - This impressive structure dates back to 1665 and was designed as a Cromwellian stronghold to protect the Sound of Bressay from invasion during the Anglo-Dutch War. The fort was finally completed in 1781. The Town Hall - Don’t miss the Clock Tower’s colorful stained-glass windows which depict scenes from early Viking history.
